Good Gardens Guide and Gardening Week by Week
New Daily Telegraph publications
The Good Gardens Guide 2006, edited by Peter King and Katherine Lambert is one of those books you should always keep in your car. Now in its seventeenth year, it is widely recognised as the essential reference book for visitors to the gardens of the UK and also includes key gardens in northern France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
In the new guide 1370 gardens are evaluated and described and there are a record 50 new entries. The editorial focus of the 2006 guide is on the role of the journeyman gardeners and aesthetes who over the centuries have criss-crossed the glob in search of work or enlightenment. Two celebrated Dutch designers, Piet Oudolf and Isabel van Groeningen, discuss their British experiences and the work of Edwin Lutyens at Le Parc Floral des Moutiers is examined.
Published by Frances Lincoln the Daily Telegraph Good Gardens Guide is excellent value at £12.99.
In Gardening Week by Week published by Frances Lincoln for the Royal Horticultural Society, Jim Gardener, Curator at RHS Garden Wisley takes you through the gardening year.
