New Edition of the Good Gardens Guide
The 2008 Edition of the Good Gardens Guide, edited by Peter King and Katherine Lambert, is now on sale.
This is the 19th edition of the guide which illustrates, once again, the amazing diversity of the gardens in the U.K. This year there are 45 gardens appearing for the first time in the guide.
Among the new entries are gardens made to complement historic houses such as Aiket Castle in Scotland and Weston Park in Herefordshire. Others display the owners’ individual imagination and taste, such as Wyekhurst in Kent and Yews Farm in Somerset.
The Good Gardens Guide is a must for dedicated garden lovers who want to visit good gardens to share and enjoy the special qualities that so many of our lovely gardens have to offer. It selects only gardens of real merit and vividly describes their main characteristics with detailed information which makes planning your visit easy.
There is a comprehensive listing of nurseries with attractive gardens attached as well as delightful photographs and coloured maps. This year sees over 1260 gardens listed, with 240 photographs and 25 maps.
It really is a book you should not be without in your car and promises to guarantee you a delightful morning or afternoon in someone else’s garden – sheer pleasure!
The Good Gardens Guide, published by Frances Lincoln, is available from March in paperback at £15.99. Purchase online for £11.19 and save 30%! (as going to print) with Amazon.co.uk.
