RHS November London Flower Show gets Festive

Christmas gifts, decorations and fresh herbal teas to ward off winter blues by herb expert Jekka McVicar are among the festive treats in store for visitors at the RHS November London Flower Show, Friday 9 - Saturday 10 November.

RHS November London Flower Show

Visitors will be able to pick up gifts and goodies for the gardener in their life and stock up on home decorations for the festive season. They can also discover new ideas and pick up tips on how to decorate their home with holly, ivy and indoor plants whilst enjoying fabulous displays of winter plants from the very best nurseries in the UK.

A special treat for visitors is a visit from herb guru Jekka McVicar. Jamie Oliver called her the 'Queen of Herbs' after she transformed his garden into a foodie’s treasure trove. Rick Stein made her one of his distinguished Food Heroes for her unparalleled work with herbs. And at this year’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show Jekka McVicar added a 59th gold to her record-breaking collection of medals.

Jekka will be at the show on Friday 9 November from 1.30pm - 5.30pm with freshly made herbal teas to help visitors prepare for the excesses of the party season. Jekka will be also answering questions and signing copies of her new book, 'Jekka's Complete Herb Book', published by Kyle Cathie Ltd, in association with the RHS.

Jekka recommends the following herbal teas for those bracing themselves for the hectic festive season:

  • Rosemary tea is brilliant for hangovers and for chasing away the winter blue
  • Thyme and hyssop tea is effective last thing at night if you have a lingering cold or cough
  • Lemon verbena tea (Jekka calls this the Rolls Royce of herbs) is a great relaxant during the day and can also help you sleep at night

To book tickets for the RHS November Flower Show call 0207 821 3408 (Monday-Fri, 9am to 5pm). The Show is held at the RHS Lawrence Hall, Greycoat Street, SW1 (nearest tubes are St James Park and Victoria, 5 minutes).
