What is the Reckless Gardener and why did we create this web site?

The Reckless Gardener is an online gardening magazine for the not too serious gardener! It's aim is to provide a light hearted starting point to gardening, to provide basic help and advice, while generating design ideas and inspiration.

"A few years ago I bought my first house, which included a small garden. Although I had pottered around my mum's garden, I didn't really have a clue how to look after mine! One spring afternoon, as I attempted to garden, slurping a large glass of red wine and listening to the football on the radio, (now over the age of 18!) I thought I can't be alone with this problem. ........And so Reckless Gardener was created.

Reckless is an online web site aimed at breaking down the preconceptions of gardening. You can check out the latest show and event news, take creative ideas from our photo gallery or find a garden designer, to help release your gardens potential! We've also features, garden visits and news from around the UK.

Sandy Felton - Freelance Journalist & Features Editor

With over 30 years experience in journalism Sandy Felton has written for a wide variety of publications. She has been a keen gardener since the age of nine and has had the pleasure of creating five gardens in her lifetime. Despite her many years as a gardener, she is a true reckless gardener, for she follows her intuition, her own likes and dislikes, shuns "fads" and just loves all things horticultural. Her main passion is roses within a cottage garden setting.

With an interest in architecture and country house gardens she has gained an insightful knowledge of the quintessential English Garden, so beloved by gardeners throughout the world. The chance to join up with Emma, a web designer, to create a site to encourage new gardeners was too good to miss and makes an interesting departure for Sandy whose experience has been mostly in the traditional print media.
