Design - Predominantly domestic but has worked on many different projects including a beer garden and hospital garden.

Area based - Glasgow

Background experience - Many years as an enthusiastic amateur gardener. Two years at College, one year working with a Garden Designer and two years as a Garden Designer.

Qualifications - Scottish Group Award in Land and Environment, HNC Horticulture.

Most exciting garden designed - Two great projects, very different and enjoyable . The Green Space Garden at The Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow and a beer garden at Owen's Bar in Coatbridge.

What inspires you about each garden that you design? - I really enjoy talking to my clients to establish exactly what they would like. One of the most satisfying parts is seeing a design reach fruition and then returning a year later to see how much it has progressed and how much the clients have enjoyed being in it.

Advice to would be designers - Enthusiasm and knowledge are essential. Get some training but above all listen to your clients and enjoy what you do.
