Design - We like to work with clients to design simple and elegant gardens, courtyards and outdoor rooms.   Designs can be sympathetic for a traditional building or provide a modern contrast with clean lines. We also have experience in the design and implementation of roof-terraces and larger estates such as listed properties. Specimen planting, hard landscaping, furniture, sculpture, lighting and water are used to create a sense of place for relaxation and entertaining.

Design plan by John Cutts

Qualifications - BA (Hons) and Graduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture, Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (MLI), Full member of the Society Of Garden Designers (MSGD).

Awards – Civic Trust Award for large park in Warwickshire 2005.

Area based -  Based in Midlands though has nationwide coverage

Most exciting garden designed - Japanese Peace garden in Worcestershire.  We designed various features that were made from cast bronze along with Japanese style planting.

What inspires you about each garden that you design? - Striving for the ‘wow’ factor and creating something that not only adds value to the property but also improves the lifestyle of the clients and their visitors.

Is there a plant that seems to be consistently used in your designs? - Box and Acers due to the structure, form and fresh colours that they bring to any garden.  Herbaceous plants are often used long with grasses to create movement and colour to reflect the changing seasons.

How do your clients cope with looking after their garden once you and your team have left? – Gardens are tailored to clients or gardeners level of skill and time they spend in their garden.  Maintenance advice can be provided and we like to return to gardens to offer advice and see how things have developed.

What is the average time scale for a typical garden?  2-6 weeks for design and costing and 1-6 weeks for installation subject to size and complexity.

Advice to would be designers – Try new ideas in small incidental ways to begin with until you become more confident.  Less is More!
