Area based – Lancashire, North West England.

Awards – Myerscough College Landscape Award 2004. Winner of the Southport Flower Show Student Design Competition 2004. Show Garden was awarded a Silver-Gilt Medal and a Special Award for the most innovative design at the show.

Qualifications - HND Garden Design, working towards BA Hons completion 2005.

Most exciting garden you've designed yet? Receiving sponsorship for the show garden at Southport Flower Show (pictured above and left) provided a unique opportunity to produce a garden without commercial inhibition. As well as the chance to take on the role of client and designer!

What inspires you about each garden that you design? The challenge of improving the use and aesthetics of an outdoor space.

Is there a plant that seems to be consistently used in your designs? Euphorbia wulfenii often creeps in due to its attractive foliage and strong form.

What is the average time scale for a typical garden? From initial consultation to the presentation of concept designs is likely to be one week, the production of a completed design package can take from approximately two to three weeks.

Advice to would be designers? Even in the smallest space the repetition of plants and similar forms will produce a more pleasing and harmonious effect than the classic mistake of creating a ‘chocolate box’ effect of planting a diverse variety of genera.
