Experience - After gaining experience working with the restoration and development of a country estates gardens, Peter worked as the senior designer for a major landscape contractor.

Awards - The professional qualification of M.S.G.D. (Registered Member of the Society of Garden Designers.)

Qualifications - An honours degree in Landscape and Garden Design from the University of Essex.

Most exciting garden you've designed yet? A beer garden with an illuminated crushed glass channel set into the paving.

What inspires you about each garden that you design? Usually a combination of something from the client and the 'spirit of place'.

Is there a plant that seems to be consistently used in your designs? At the moment, Gleditsia triacanthos 'Sunburst'.

How do your clients cope with looking after their garden once you and your team have left? I leave them with a maintenance guide.

What is the average time scale for a typical garden? 3 weeks.

Advice to would be designers? Listen to your client.
