Gardening Scotland 2008

Gardening Scotland 2008 will take place from Friday May 30 until Sunday June 1 2008 at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston near Edinburgh.

The Show is the highlight of the gardening year in Scotland, and gives new gardeners all the inspiration and advice they need to make the most of their own gardens. There is access to specialist nurseries and growers who come from all over the UK.

The Dobbies Floral Hall, will be packed to the rafters with thousands of stunning blooms, each one at the very peak of perfection. This is the biggest specialist plant sale in Scotland and the plants sold here are some of the rarest to be found anywhere in the country.

Other attractions include the International Village,  stunning Show Gardens, the popular Pallet Garden contest, Food Fayre, Floral Art Competition and an extended Craft Marquee.

The BBC Scotland Beechgrove Theatre will be back once again, broadcasting some of its top shows live from Gardening Scotland and also hosting workshops and demonstrations where visitors can get to meet the Beechgrove Garden’s team of experts.

New for 2008 will be a fashion show of bio-degradable and recycled gardening clothes - the work of students of Heriot Watt University.

There will be lots more green ideas in The Living Garden, where all the leading environmental organisations will be on hand to give advice on living and gardening in harmony with nature while The Big Back Garden will provide all the fun of a family back garden, with oversized games, great patio furniture and barbecue demonstrations, making Gardening Scotland a great day out for all the family.

Tickets to Gardening Scotland 2008 cost £14 on Friday and £12 on Saturday or Sunday but book before 23 May and you can save £2 per ticket. For further information call the ticket hotline on 0131 333 0965 or log-on to www.gardeningscotland.com
