Garden Experts to tackle green issues in lecture series

The 'green' approach is the theme for the renowned gardeners who will be visiting West Dean College this summer to deliver a series of garden lectures.

Broadcaster and author Pippa Greenwood, garden designer Noel Kingsbury; former head gardener at the Garden House, Devon, Keith Wiley and botanist, ecologist, horticulturist and landscape designer Dr Nigel Dunnett.

Dr Nigel Dunnett will launch the series with a lecture on 'Artistic Ecology' which takes place on 23 rd June. Nigel has pioneered the concept of 'pictorial meadows', green roofs and living walls.

On 14 th July Noel Kingsbury will lecture on 'Wild Style Planting'. Noel is one of the UK’s most widely published garden writers and he returns to West Dean to offer his workshop using the magnificent gardens at the College to demonstrate and illustrate his lecture.

Pippa Greenwood is one of the best-known voices on organic fruit and vegetable gardening. She comes to West Dean to lecture on 'Common Sense Gardening – the Green Approach' on 22 nd September.

On the Wild Side – 'Creating a Naturalistic Garden from Scratch' will take place on 20 th October and will be delivered by Keith Wiley with a lecture which will explain how to create a wild and naturalistic garden from scratch that will be a haven for wildlife.

West Dean College and Gardens is situated on the A286, six miles north of Chichester and six miles south of Midhurst. The college runs over 600 short courses each year as well as postgraduate programmes in visual arts and conservation.
