Harrogate Spring Flower Show - a great Northern event

Harrogate always gets the horticultural season off to a flying start and 2008 will be no exception. Over 100 of the UK's top nurseries will be exhibiting a wide range of plants - from alpines and cacti to perennials and trees.

A highlight of this year's show will be the Bradstone College Garden Design Area - sponsored by Bradstone, this will feature seven show gardens built by college garden design students and will occupy a prominent central position in the Plant Societies' & Garden Design Marquee.

Another new feature will be the regional heats of Skills Challenge 2008: Landscape Gardening. Teams from colleges in the North will all work to the same design and build their gardens on the first day of the show.

There is also a new judging category for horticultural nurseries in Flower Halls 1 & 2 - aimed to encourage more adventurous displays - the theme will be ‘Yorkshire’.

So plenty of new things to see and enjoy as well as the regular favourites such as the Bayer Garden Roadshow, the Daffodil and Tulip shows and the fantastic food and craft marquees.

Harrogate Show

The Harrogate Spring Show is held at the Great Yorkshire Showground from Thursday 24th April until 27th April. Tickets can be ordered in advanced (saving £2 per ticket) through the ticket hotline: 0870 758 3333 or book on-line at www.flowershow.org.uk

You can be sure of a really good day out at Harrogate and a warm northern welcome - whatever the weather.
