back to news index ..... Hillier Help for Heroes Rose Hillier Garden Centres have lent their support to the Help for Heroes charity by launching the Help for Heroes rose. The charity has been set up to help the wounded from Britain's current conflicts and whose first goal is to raise £5-8 million for a new gym and swimming pool at the services specialist rehabilitation centre.
The rose bears a mass of fragrant clusters of deep red full-petalled flowers from late spring right through to the first frosts of winter. It is ideal for containers, mixed borders or low hedging. A floribunda it grows 80cm (2.5ft) tall by 60cm (2ft) wide and has a strong, bushy habit and glossy, disease-resistant leaves. Planted in threes, the rose makes a spectacular display in the border.
