Uvistat shines through at BBC Gardeners' World Live

Sun care brand Uvistat will be making its mark at BBC Gardeners World Live 2008 as a major sponsor.

According to the UK Skin Cancer Working Party, those who have an outdoor occupation or interest like gardening, golfing and skiing are at risk and must learn to protect themselves.

With this thinking, the company has identified the gardening sector as the perfect opportunity for promoting the brand.  As well as sponsoring Picnic Hill at the show running from the 11 – 15 June, Uvistat is also taking space within BBC Country File to showcase new product Uvisport and hold an aptly named Mole Check Clinic!

The clinic will not, as recent news stories have highlighted, help protect the endangered garden mole, but will check any potentially dangerous moles on the body. It will be staffed by dermatologists from leading Midlands’ hospitals in association with dedicated skin cancer charity Skcin.

At both Picnic Hill and within the hall, free samples will be given out for show visitors to try.

Andrew Camp, sales and marketing director for LPC Pharmaceuticals Ltd, says:  “Our sponsorship is, of course, about promoting the brand, but at the same time educating people and reinforcing the message that it is important to protect your skin from the harmful effects of the sun, but at the same time to enjoy the warm weather we have, get outdoors and garden!”

Uvistat is one of the only high SPF and five star protection products with prescription status in the UK, meaning the user can get the highest level of UVA & UVB protection. UVA rays are those which cause premature skin ageing and skin cancer and UVB rays are responsible for burning.
