Chris Nangle Furniture Design

Chris Nangle Furniture Design produces a wide range of individually designed interior and exterior solid hardwood furniture.

Committed to using only sustainable British hardwoods from managed woodlands, Chris uses the locally sourced green oak for his outdoor furniture; ensuring an end product that is exceptionally durable and perfect for the UK climate.

Chris explains, "All of the work starts in the same way, with a rough sketch and then I make any aesthetic decisions on the way. This makes the process very organic. My aim is to produce simple yet innovative forms that are as visually stimulating as they are practical in use. I can undertake any kind of project from a simple coffee table to site specific public seating, or a full suite of dining furniture."

The green oak used by Chris is exceptionally durable, that it needs no chemical treatments or preservatives and is completely maintenance free. All the user has to do is watch it naturally season and age gracefully to a beautiful silver colour. Or alternatively, by purchasing the scorched oak finish, which provides a bold statement for any environment, as the work seasons, each piece takes on its own individual character.
